  Delegates from the Peoples Republic of Bangladesh Ministry of Education visited DepEd-NCR   Delegates from the Peoples Republic of Bangladesh Ministry of Education visited the DepEd- National Capital Region for a study tour to benchmark on the best practices of the Philippine education system, specifically on Secondary Education held on January 13, 17 and 19, 2017. The delegation was headed by four (4) honorable members of the parliament together with officials from the Ministry of Education. 
 EARLY REGISTRATION!  In preparation for the opening of classes for School Year (SY) 2017-2018, the Department of Education (DepEd) has set January 28 to February 24, 2017 as the period for early registration from Kindergarten up to Grade 10 in all public elementary and secondary schools nationwide. This effort primarily aims to reach the expected number of students for SY 2017-2018, to better prepare for and be able to address the possible issues and concerns the Department will face come June 2017.      
  SY 2017-2018 shall begin on Monday, June 05, 2017 and shall end on Friday, April 6, 2018.  The SY will consist of 204 school days, inclusive of the five-day In-Service Training (INSET) break and the four days for the Parent-Teacher Conferences (PTC) conducted every quarter.However,  “learners are expected to be in school for a total of 195 class days.The School Holidays and Breaks for SY 2017-2018 also include Independence Day (June 12), Eid’l Fitr (June 26), National Heroes’ Day (August 28), Start of Semestral Break (October 23 to October 27), All Saints’ Day (November 1), Bonifacio Day (November 30) and Start of Christmas Break on December 22.
